Learning tastes better when it’s rooted in community.
Howard`s Cooking with Soul 5th Day class visited The Living Room (@livingroomstl), a local café co-owned by Crossroads alum Hannah Larson ’05 and current parent Nate Larson, to explore food, entrepreneurship, and connection — all served with heart.
World Cultures in action. 🌍
Our 6th and 7th graders visited the Missouri Botanical Garden to study Persian tile, connecting history, design, and culture through close observation and real-world learning.
An unforgettable visit with Angeline Boulley.
Students had the opportunity to learn from the celebrated Ojibwe/Chippewa author of Firekeeper’s Daughter, hearing firsthand about storytelling, representation, and the power of voice. We’re so grateful for moments like these that expand perspectives and spark meaningful conversations.
Thanks to The Novel Neighbor for an incredible continued partnership!
Snowballs, big smiles, and impromptu snow cream with KP. ❄️
We hope your holidays are filled with as much joy, laughter, and sweetness as our students found playing together in the snow.
Great moves and even better sportsmanship. ♟️
Our chess team loved spending time playing against students from Lift for Life: building connections, sharpening strategy, and sharing a love for the game across schools.
Our building was buzzing during Quarter 2 Exhibition — a true celebration of curiosity, creativity, and student ownership.
From Sci-Fi Lore students designing entire worlds inspired by today’s political realities, to dumpling-making and collaborative cooking, to shooting hoops with the #1 robotics team in St. Louis, there was something happening in every corner.
We also loved seeing Bennie launch Sapphire Stitches through her silent auction, and watching projects come to life through experimentation, art, and imagination. This is 5th Day at its best.
Thanks to all our visitors, especially all the alumni who came!
We were proud to celebrate Greg Noble, our Facilities Director, who was recently recognized by the American Red Cross for going above and beyond in support of their shelter hosted at Crossroads this summer. Greg was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation and honored in front of our entire school community by LaKricia Cox, Executive Director of the American Red Cross.
Greg’s recognition is a powerful reminder that it’s the people at Crossroads who make this place so special. Every single adult in our building shows up for students in ways both big and small — and Greg is a perfect example. Whether he’s supporting shelter operations, playing football with students, retrieving balls from the roof, fixing cameras with his ever-present multi-tool, or simply sharing a laugh in the hallway, his generosity, humility, humor, and care are felt every day.
We’re so grateful for Greg — and for all the adults who help make Crossroads a community where students feel supported, known, and valued. 💙
Congratulations to our outstanding mathematicians who took on this year’s AMC (American Mathematics Competition) — a nationally recognized exam that challenges students with advanced problem-solving and critical thinking.
