We are excited to get to know your student! Our morning half-day shadow visits run from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and our afternoon shadow visits run from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Prospective students are paired with a current student and participate in several classes. Half-day shadow visits are scheduled on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. The half-day shadow day is a required piece for admission to Crossroads College Prep.

Crossroads College Prep, together with ISSL (Independent Schools of St. Louis), uses the SSAT Standard Application Online (SAO). To apply online, please click here. A $50 application fee is required for each application. In cases of significant financial need, please ask our office about the possibility of a fee waiver.

We see your whole child, not just a test score. 

We are proud to announce that our admission process is test-optional. Since 2020, more and more colleges have decided their admissions process will be test optional. Today, more than 80% of four-year colleges in the U.S. are test-optional. This simple change in admissions policy increases application rates, while making the process more equitable and supportive of a multiplicity of learning profiles. 

If you are still having your child take the SSAT, you can find out more details about the composition of the test or order a test prep booklet here. To ensure that Crossroads receives a copy of your child’s scores, please fill in our school code (2672) when registering for the test.

A note about testing: The SSAT is not a test for placement. It is a tool that gives Crossroads a way to evaluate applicants, regardless of their background or experience. It is one piece of the application and does not weigh more than any of the other required pieces for admission.

We enjoy getting to know our prospective families!  Interviews are required as a part of the admission process. We are now conducting interviews in-person or virtually. Please plan for the interview to take approximately 45 minutes. The family interview can take place at any point in the admission process. Upon completion of your application, the Admissions Team will reach out to schedule an interview.

Please complete the Transcript Release Form included in the online application; it will be submitted to automatically to your child’s current school. The school representative will upload the transcripts and records to your child’s online application. If your family is unable to upload the transcripts and school records to the online application, they may be mailed directly from the sending school to Crossroads College Prep. Hand-delivered or unofficial transcripts will not be accepted. As is standard practice, the seal on every transcript’s mailing envelope needs to be signed by a school official.

Information such as health records, standardized test scores, and any other information part of the permanent record should be mailed along with the student’s grades. All applicants are required to provide three years of records. If a student has switched schools in the recent past, a transcript release form may need to be submitted to each individual school.

We require one academic letter of recommendation from the teacher of your choice, preferably from one of your child’s core class teachers (Science, Math, English, Social Studies). We also require one non-academic recommendation. This letter should come from an individual who knows your student outside of the classroom. The non-academic recommendation can come from a religious leader, scout leader, music instructor, dance teacher, camp counselor, etc.

Recommendations can be submitted directly on the online SSAT application or sent directly to Crossroads College Prep via email to admission@crossroadscollegeprep.org.
