Theatre Parents: Volunteers Needed

adminUncategorized

Dear Crossroads Theatre Parents:

We are preparing for Tech Week (Monday, January 26 – Sunday, February 1) for the Winter One Acts. Parents support the theatre program by providing healthy and substantial snacks and dinners for the cast and theatre staff, and treats for intermission to encourage donations during performances. Also, we will be selling flowers at each performance.

Please use the Volunteer Spot web page to sign up: http://vols.pt/6B9GUi

Please choose how you would like to help from the following list. Our talented students and Lee Anne have always been grateful and appreciative of our efforts. Meals and snacks will be needed for 30, about 10 who are vegetarian. Here is the schedule at a glance:

  • Monday, January 26 – Healthy snacks by 3:15 pm
  • Tuesday, January 27 – Healthy snacks by 3:15 pm
  • Wednesday, January 28 – Dinner @ 4 pm – Dress Rehearsal (no intermission treats)
  • Thursday, January 29 – Dinner @ 4 pm, intermission treats by 6 pm – Opening Night
  • Friday, January 30 – NO SHOW
  • Saturday, January 31 – Healthy snacks by 4:00 pm; Intermission treats by 6 pm (no dinner)
  • Sunday, February 1 – Healthy snacks by Noon; Intermission treats by 1 pm (no lunch)

There are approximately 30 members of the cast and technical staff. Snacks and dinner food should be delivered to school at times noted in a box marked “theatre students”.

We encourage 2 families to share dinner preparations to minimize expense and effort. Healthy food offerings (more protein and vegetables than sugar) can enhance focus and concentration. If you are providing a main course for dinner such as pizza, toasted ravioli or pasta (always big hits!), please also provide fruit or salad for balance.

Healthy snack suggestions – pita chips + hummus; bagels + cream cheese; apples + caramel sauce; fresh vegetables and fruit + crackers; healthy cookies or muffins (whole grain, oatmeal, not too sugary).

All the intermission donations obtained go directly to support the theatre department.

Baked goods are always well received by the audience. Intermission treats should be finger foods (e.g., cup cakes, cookies, brownies), single snack packs (e.g., chips, pretzels) or granola bars. Please send baked items pre-cut and ready to serve.

We need intermission volunteers to help set up, work and clean up after, as well as one person to set up and sell flowers. We will need one person to work the box office Thursday and Saturday at 6 pm and Sunday at 1 pm.

You may also email your name, email address and phone number to LSechrist1@gmail.com, and she will add you to the Volunteer Spot form. Thanks to Lee Anne for all she does for our students!
