Is computer programming the new world literacy?

ComputerScienceEducationWeeklogoThe Hour of Code is a nationwide initiative by Computer Science Education Week and Code.org to introduce millions of students to one hour of computer science and computer programming. You can watch a short video intro here.

Last year hundreds of organizations joined together to create fun introductions to programming for all to learn. This year the goal is to get 100 million participants from all across the globe.

This hour of code experience is scheduled as follows:

  • Dec. 8: 10th grade
  • Dec. 9: 7th and 8th grades
  • Dec. 11: 9th grade

It is important for students to have headphones or ear buds for this experience.

Our goal is to have 200+ hours of code at Crossroads!
