We learn differently; we know different things; we need different supports and enrichments. Math Lab is a new class that the Crossroads Math department has designed to increase all students’ math engagement, enjoyment, fluidity, and mastery.
Students gather once a week for an hour to do math. It is not a math class: the work is individualized and there are choices. Several teachers and tutors are available for support.
In one group on Wednesday, the students who wanted to were given challenging math riddles to solve while another group received homework help and yet another group reviewed math skills to strengthen their base. More time on math is a great thing!
