This beloved all school tradition is a perfect way to glide into Winter Break! Every year, we wrap up a week of challenging upper school finals and middle school projects with the joy of ice skating together at Steiner Rink in Forest Park.
We also celebrated our second 5th Day Exhibition the morning before ice skating. After a quarter of hard work and the group lift of Exhibition, inviting our wider community into the building to learn from our students is a perfect way to demonstrate and honor our efforts!
We celebrated intellectually, then we got to unwind physically! Our students always amaze us: they call each other into the fun, creating an environment of joy and inclusion at every all school event. Some beautiful sights we saw included students helping others at the rink learn to skate (including our Communications Coordinator, Zoe), faculty playing a hilarious Parks and Recreation card game, and students working together to make an arm-tunnel and other skating tricks. This year was extra special because we invited alumni to join us on the ice. We had so much fun that we can’t wait for next year! Seniors, we hope you’ll come back as alumni to tear it up on the ice!
