A Midsummer Night’s Dream to Remember

adminUncategorized

Anyone fortunate enough to have seen the recent production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream produced by the Crossroads Theatre Department and directed by Christopher Limber will tell you that the experience was magical. A collaborative effort, the cast and crew demonstrated the true meaning of ensemble as they struggled with the challenges that accompany the achievement of excellence. From start to finish the audience was swept into the world of mischief as the story unfolded. Each actor delivered beautifully paced lines with perfect expression and presence, tightly supported by elegant costuming, lighting, set design, and choreography. Moreover, the support of the pit musicians and an original score by Music Director Hugh Jones made for an extraordinary journey into the mid 19th century Caribbean setting. Many audience members commented on the quality of the production, stating that they had never appreciated Shakespeare’s sense of humor better or seen a better rendition of Midsummer! Applause to Crossroads’ players, tech crew and musicians for an evening of twists and turns that kept the audience members on the edge of their seats, and many thanks to everyone behind the scenes who helped support the show.
