A Graduation to Remember: Crossroads Quickly Adapts to Celebrate Class of 2025

May 23, 2025

When a tornado devastated much of the Crossroads neighborhood just days before graduation, the odds seemed stacked against the Class of 2025 getting the sendoff they deserved. But in true Crossroads fashion, our community rallied, pivoted, and pulled off one of the most memorable and meaningful graduations in school history.

With no power in the building and the gym unavailable, Crossroads quickly transformed the Urban Chestnut Midtown Biergarten into a vibrant, open-air graduation venue. Thanks to the tireless coordination of Gillian Getzewich Kuplent and the generosity of Urban Chestnut and Personal Touches, the event came together in just 48 hours—complete with staging, sound, and celebration.

Families gathered under sunny skies, emotions high, to honor the accomplishments of this resilient class. Their high school journey had already included pandemic disruptions, social justice movements, and now a natural disaster. But their spirits shone brighter than any setback. It was an afternoon of pride, joy, and collective hope for what lies ahead.

To those who helped bring the event to life, thank you. And to the Class of 2025: Your strength is the story of this school. Congratulations, and we can’t wait to follow where your journey takes you!
