THE CAMPAIGN FOR OUR NEXT 50 YEARS

In its first 50 years, Crossroads has transformed and inspired thousands of student lives. Today, Crossroads is a solution to many of the challenges facing our region and our world. Using critical thinking and design principles, our students work with and learn from people who are different from them, in an environment where each person is accepted and celebrated for who they are. Our students and alumni change the world every day in big and small ways, proud to be risk-takers and innovators.

With your help, the best of Crossroads is yet to come.

This milestone 50th anniversary gives us cause to reflect on who we are, what we are uniquely positioned to do, and what middle and high school students need most.

Everything we do, we do for Crossroads, our students, and our future. In our next 50 years, we will make the Crossroads experience available to more students and more families.

We can ONLY do that with YOUR help!

We must continue to build on our efforts to reach out to the entire St. Louis region while maintaining our intentional economic diversity. Changing demographics and economic uncertainty have contributed to enrollment challenges for most independent
schools, including Crossroads. In keeping with our mission, we have transformed our financial assistance program into Individualized Tuition. This approach ensures that each family’s contribution to school costs is considered at a level that aligns with their ability to pay and creates an equitable approach that brings the Crossroads experience within reach for many more families.

An investment of $3.5 million in scholarships will expand access for up to 160 students who desire and deserve a Crossroads education. Your generous support will bring the Crossroads experience to more students and families.

To prepare students for the design-focused workplaces of the future, our classrooms, meeting spaces, and systems must inspire innovation, creativity, and collaboration. And as we modernize the spaces at Crossroads, we are also exploring and adopting ways to expand our programs to reach more families. This $1 million investment will allow us to:

  • Engage more families by investing in additional enrollment and marketing efforts.
  • Upgrade classroom technology to create adaptable spaces and ensure access to essential tools for success.
  • Reimagine our library into a versatile hub for hands-on, experiential learning through our 5th Day program.
  • Modernize our HVAC system and roof for a more sustainable, comfortable, and energy-efficient environment.
A $1,000,000 investment will advance our systems and infrastructure, support our forward-thinking curriculum, and demonstrate students’ futures.

5th Day at Crossroads is an educational laboratory, providing time for innovation and exploration, making space for creativity in learning while retaining our focus on academics. Integrated into the traditional school week, 5th Day allows all Crossroads students to dive deep into complex topics both in academics and in the real world, and immerse themselves in meaningful, large-scale projects.
An investment of $500,000 for 5th Day curriculum will support educational innovation, create new and exciting initiatives with local organizations, attract and retain outstanding teachers, leaders, and experts, and provide students the skills they need to thrive in a complex world.

Crossroads has a storied and rich history in St. Louis. It has always been an innovator and committed to diversity. The support and generosity of its community has helped our students to reach goals beyond what they ever imagined.

Looking ahead to the next 50 years, we have an opportunity to build on our success and open doors to even more students, while becoming a more fiscally strong organization. As we reflect on our beginnings in 1974, we invite you to join us as we renew our commitment to pioneering educational opportunities, to preparing students for the new requirements of college and beyond, and to bringing the Crossroads experience to more students and families.

Our $5 million All for Crossroads campaign will support 5th Day curriculum development, expand scholarships for students, and transform our building to support this dynamic and exciting curriculum. A successful campaign will make a Crossroads education accessible for more students and families, and strengthen the school’s facilities, finances, and future so vital to student success and a thriving St. Louis.
