Pride week starts TOMORROW! 🌈 🏳️🌈
The Crossroads GSA (Genders and Sexualities Alliance) has been hard at work putting together another colorful, fun filled, creative Pride Week! Start planning your outfits and get excited for all our lunchtime activities.
Since Pride Month falls when we`re already out of school, we do Pride Week every April at Crossroads! Pride Week celebrates queer students and culture loudly and proudly. GSA will be sharing informative zines, rainbow treats, and lots of queer joy. We hope, regardless of your identity, you participate and show out for Pride Week! 🌈
Big applause for our own Lizi Watt! 👏
Congratulations to Crossroads theater teacher and director for being recognized by the St. Louis Theater Circle as Outstanding Performer in a Drama (Female or Non-Binary Role) for Meet Me at Dawn with Upstream Theater.
Lizi’s commitment to her craft is evident in every role she steps into—on stage and off. She is deeply intentional with every directorial and acting choice, bringing thoughtfulness, precision, and care to her work. It’s an immense privilege for our students to learn from her as a mentor, guide, and creative force.
Shoutout as well to Esmé S. ’26, who served as assistant stage director on Meet Me at Dawn, another example of students stepping into real-world artistic spaces 🎭
Check mate, Spring break! ♟️🔥
Our chess team took on nationals in Chicago and came home TOP 10 — finishing 9th out of 43 teams in the U800 section. We’re so proud of their accomplishments throughout this season and this weekend.
Shoutout to our medalists:
♟️ Nasser W. ‘27 — 11th place out of 231 (5-1-1)
♟️ Langston L. ‘32 — 23rd place (5-2)
And to Jack M. ‘29, Jay O. ‘26, and Ashtin K. ‘27 for battling through tough matches and showing what Crossroads grit looks like.
Beyond the tournament, this trip was full of Crossroads energy: Amtrak rides, college visits at Loyola University Chicago, deep dish pizza, and exploring the city together.
We support students through every opportunity, even over school breaks. Thanks to chess coach and science teacher Howard Granok for making this all possible, and assistant coach Michael Bartley for his essential support.
A little magic, a lot of heart, and a stage full of talent ✨
The spring production of Cinderella brought the story to life in the most joyful, imaginative way — from stunning costumes to standout performances and a cast that fully committed to every moment.
More than a fairy tale, this show was a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and the kind of confidence that grows when students take the stage and make it their own.
Brava to our cast, crew, and directors for turning a classic into something uniquely Crossroads 💫
Return your signed enrollment agreement and deposit by March 30.
A quick look at Crossroads: watch to see students in action—from flying drones and creating in the Makerspace to performing on stage, painting murals, and competing on the court. With 5th Day, athletics, and our City as Campus model, learning goes beyond the classroom and into the real world, fostering YOUR curiosity, confidence, and creativity!
