As part of our 50th Anniversary celebration, Crossroads was thrilled to host the “Teacher for a Day” presentations, featuring an impressive lineup of alumni who returned to share their knowledge and experiences with our current students. This event highlighted the rich legacy of education at Crossroads and allowed students to engage with former classmates turned educators.
Alumni like Cecilia Boyers ’14, who led a session on aerial silks, and Dylan Calsyn ’89, who discussed working with the Supreme Court of California, inspired students with their unique perspectives and expertise. Other presenters included:
- Clark Daggett – History and Music of the 1960s
- Rebecca Jaffe ’18 – Comedy
- Rachel Kristy ’89 – College Search
- Henry Powers ’00 – Challenging the Status Quo
- Julie Salamon ’91 – Street Law: These Are Your Rights
- Kristin Smith-Dunlop ’85 – Journalism/PR
- Heather Sultz ’09 – Music and Movement
- Colin Witherspoon ’09 – Personal Finance/Investments
Each presentation offered students a glimpse into the diverse paths available to them and emphasized the importance of critical thinking and social awareness—core values that have always been at the heart of a Crossroads education. This event was not only a celebration of our past but also a reminder of the impact Crossroads continues to have on shaping informed, compassionate individuals.
