Crossroads College Prep’s chess team competed in the National High School Championships this past week in Washington, D.C! What an experience! Joshua Vaughn (’25) played in the U1200 division, while Jackson Turnage (’23), Ronak Mohanty (’24), Kenzie Davis (’26), Alex Babusis (’26), Austin Wangler (’27), and Max Winkles-Reinsch (’27) all played in the U800 division. Our U800 team placed 3rd in the division, out of 67 teams, bringing home a nice trophy! Senior Jackson Turnage posted six wins and one draw to place second in the division out of 400 players, while junior Ronak Mohanty won 6 against just 1 loss to place ninth in the division.
