Crossroads College Prep middle school students recently returned from their annual Land for Learning experience, a tradition that combines outdoor adventure with personal growth, teamwork, and reflection. The multi-day program gives students opportunities to challenge themselves while building stronger relationships with classmates and teachers.
Throughout the trip, students learned atlatl history and throwing techniques, prepared meals over campfires, explored nature through hiking and canoeing, and participated in collaborative team-building activities. Each experience encouraged students to step outside their comfort zones while supporting one another along the way.
Some of the most memorable moments came unexpectedly. When rain swept through camp, students embraced the weather by dancing, singing, and laughing together rather than seeking shelter. The experience captured the spirit of the trip and the sense of joy that grows from shared experiences.
The camp concluded with a period of solo reflection, inviting students to consider what it means to be part of the Crossroads community. Through outdoor learning, meaningful conversations, and time away from daily routines, students returned with stronger friendships, greater confidence, and a deeper understanding of themselves.
