Today, Wednesday, November 12th, mid-quarter grades are available to students and their families on Edline at 4pm. Mid-quarter is not an official grading period; it merely marks progress along the journey. For 7th and 8th graders, this is half-way to the second quarter grade. For 9th – 12th graders, this is only half of one quarter, which is itself half (or less if the class has an exam) of a semester grade. If appropriate in your parent/child dynamic, use this as an occasion to discuss how things are going in classes. Some students should spend a moment admiring accomplishments; some might need to reconsider patterns if they are not meeting their goals. For everyone, use the information well!
