ISACS Visiting Team

We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality
tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects
one directly affects all indirectly.
–Martin Luther King, Jr.
“Letter from Birmingham Jail”

Friends,

The visiting accreditation team for Crossroads has left, and the ten thoughtful, diligent, curious, and intelligent educators from other independent schools in the midwest are on their way back to their individual schools and homes. I am impressed and honored by the time and attention they gave us. Soon, I will receive a complete list of commendations and recommendations based on their visit and our two-years-in-the-making self study.

Before they left, the head of the visiting team shared a draft of the team’s major commendations. First on this list is the primacy of our primary tenet. It takes all of us to understand and to live a “network of mutuality.” Our scholarly, imaginative, and responsible students and our passionate and talented faculty, both mentioned in the commendations as well, represent living evidence of this network daily. Parents and alumni also met with the visiting team, and their contributions to the team’s understanding of the mutuality we work to sustain were invaluable.

The visiting team also shares a list of recommendations. I reviewed a draft of these with the head of the visiting team and believe that they are actionable and that they will improve what we do for our students and community. Many of the recommendations align with observations and goals already established by our faculty and staff during the self study. We are a smart and good school serving a smart and good community.

I believe very much in our students, our faculty and staff, and you. It takes all of us to make us who we are, and I am very honored to be a part of this.

With great expectations,
Jason
