Fifteen Archers Participate in St. Louis Shootout

adminUncategorized

This past Saturday morning, fifteen members of the Archery activity traveled to Imperial, MO to compete in this year’s St. Louis Shootout. As in past years the team performed very well placing third in the high school division. Highlights included Milton Green notching a score of 268 (out of 300) with nine bulls-eyes with Leilani Gooch right behind him with a score of 267 and twelve bulls-eyes. Both just missed the qualifying score of 270 for the state competition. Excellent shooting!  The lone middle school participant, Catherine Birch, shot a 224. Thanks to Joe Stickley for overseeing the tournament on Saturday and Gerry Lauber for organizing our participation in the event.

The Archery activity is in its fourth year. More than 200 Crossroads students have participated in the activity.  It is a sport that any student can be a part of and enjoy.  We are part of NASP (National Archery in the Schools Program) and are funded through the Missouri Department of Conservation, the Easton Foundation, and several individual donors.
