Excellence in learning

April 13, 2016

On April 10-11, Grace Gerbi, Callista Martin, and A’Dana Smith participated in Excellence in Learning at the University of Missouri Medical School.  They were selected to attend this two day program with approximately 50 students and their teachers from the St. Louis Area.  While on the Mizzou campus, they:

  • Solved a medical case using Problem Based Learning (PBL), the same method used to train current medical students;
  • Attended hands-on workshops at the Essig Clinical Simulation Learning Lab to practice skills used daily by health professionals;
  • Shadowed doctors in a field of interest; and,
  • Interacted with medical students in all activities and in several panels and round-table discussions.
Congratulations, Grace, Callista, and A’Dana for being selected and for taking advantage of this wonderful opportunity to explore your interest in medical professions!
