FullSizeRenderOn Thursday January 22nd, the eighth grade class spent the day at the Thomas F. Eagleton U.S. Courthouse. Our day began with a welcome from Chief U.S district Judge Catherine D. Perry, a former Crossroads parent.  We visited two other courtrooms and observed a sentencing hearing and supervised release revocation hearing – equally fascinating.  The students really enjoyed going all the way up to the 28th floor to enjoy the views of the city. Here we checked out the Eighth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals where we got to sit in the Judges’ seats and view a courtroom from a different perspective.  Steve Linder, U.S. Deputy Marshal, provided us with a lively and entertaining overview of his job, sharing stories and teaching us about his equipment. Our day wrapped up in the Judicial Learning Center where we participated in a highly competitive scavenger hunt – what a great way to review everything we learned!
