5th Day Exhibition Brings Learning to Life with Interactive Demos and Showcases

Last week’s 5th Day Exhibition brought record numbers, as over 70 parents joined us for an incredible showcase of student projects and creativity! For the first time, students explored the exhibition in friend groups, making the experience more fun and interactive.

Each 5th Day course added its own unique flair to the event:

Car Maintenance: Demonstrated the inner workings of car engines by popping open car tops and walking attendees through parts identification.
Rock Climbing: Taught knot tying and crafted a working tire swing, giving guests a glimpse of their outdoor skills.
Outdoor Education: Showcased fire-starting, tent-building, and fishing techniques, bringing the wilderness to life.
CIVITAS: Election 2024: Presented posters on candidates and policies for the upcoming election, while also surveying attendees for their political views.
Theatre Tech Design Immersion: Gave behind-the-scenes access to the tech processes for the upcoming Ride the Cyclone musical.
STL Architecture: Hosted a marshmallow and toothpick building competition, blending creativity with design principles.
STL Neighborhood Foods: Shared food inspired by their trips, alongside beautifully crafted scrapbooks documenting their culinary journeys.
Upcycle Fashion: Ended their fashion show with a powerful message, highlighting fast fashion waste through engaging statistics.
Video Production: Screened their films and live-recorded interviews, giving attendees a real-time look into the world of filmmaking.
Drone Crew: Flew drones around the exhibition while presenting their aerial video productions.

As students traveled from one class to the next, they collected stamps for each activity, and those who completed the journey were entered into a gift card drawing!

This semester’s 5th Day Exhibition truly embodied Crossroads’ commitment to interdisciplinary learning, hands-on experiences, and creative expression. We can’t wait to see what next quarter brings!
