Author Scott Westerfeld spoke to a packed room of ninth and tenth graders about the history of teenagers, about his latest book, Afterworlds, and answered many questions about how he writes young adult fiction. When asked if there was a book he read as a child that influenced his decision to be a writer, he named Charlotte’s Web because E. B. White shows the power of the written word to communicate and to save. The Crossroads Library has several of Westerfeld’s books on display. Please encourage your daughter or son to check one out!
