As Crossroads’ new Director of Advancement, Anne May is tasked with leading the school’s fundraising, admissions, and communications efforts. She comes to Crossroads with development experience at the United Way of Greater St. Louis, Visitation Academy, and the Cornerstone Center for Early Learning.
She notes that she was drawn to Crossroads’ mission and supportive community. “It’s been really inspiring to see how tight-knit our school community is, how our faculty go above and beyond to support our students, and how Crossroads really is a hidden gem in the independent school landscape in St. Louis.”
Among her objectives this year is a revamp of the Gala for Scholarship, now called the (UN)GALA. “We want to give our entire school community of parents, alumni, and supporters an easy way to come together and celebrate the school while raising money for scholarship.” The new event, which will take place at the Moto Museum on February 22, will be less formal, but “just as fun and just as important to our goal of maintaining and supporting educational access through a robust scholarship program.”
Anne is looking forward to getting to know the faculty, staff, students, parents, and alumni families that know and love Crossroads. She’s excited about working with young alumni to build deeper connections to Crossroads that will last many years. “Our young alumni should expect to hear from me and some fellow alumni volunteers in the coming months about new initiatives we have planned to engage them as a community.”
When not working, Anne enjoys spending time with family and friends; volunteering for Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, Cornerstone Center for Early Learning, and NARAL Missouri; reading nonfiction; and walking her dog Rosie.
