Admissions Process & Deadlines

2017-2018 School Year

We are currently in our Rolling Admission Season! This means the application timeline we follow with our neighboring Independent Schools has passed, and we are accepting applications as they come in for all remaining spaces in our 7th through 12th grade classes. Please contact the Admissions Office (, 314-367-8085) to learn more and to set up a half-day student visit and an hour-long parent session.

The Application Process at Crossroads College Prep requires five steps:

  • Student Visit
  • Application
  • Parent/Guardian Session
  • Testing
  • Transcript and Recommendations

Student Visit

Prospective students are required to schedule a half-day, morning visit to Crossroads College Preparatory School. Visits will be arranged on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, beginning at 7:50 a.m. and ending at 12 noon. Prospective students are paired with a current student and visit a number of classes. Student visits must be scheduled ahead of time through the Admissions Office (314) 367-8085. A prospective student may visit at any time during the application process.

Crossroads College Prep, together with all of the ISSL (Independent Schools of St. Louis) member schools, uses the SSAT Standard Application Online (SAO). To apply online, please click here. We can help track your child’s application’s progress once you have registered as an applicant.

If you would prefer to print the application and submit it to us directly, you may download a copy of the application here. A $40 application fee is required for each application.

Parent/Guardian Session

Parents/Guardians of prospective students are also required to schedule a time to tour the school and meet with the Director of Admission and Head of School. Please schedule the parent/guardian session in advance by calling (314) 367-8085. Similar to the student visit, it is not necessary to have an application on file prior to scheduling a parent/guardian session.

SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test)

Crossroads College Prep accepts the SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test). The SSAT is administered at various times during the admission season at several locations. To register or to find out more details about the composition of the test or order a test prep booklet, please click here.

To ensure that Crossroads College Prep gets a copy of your child’s scores, please fill in our school code, 2672.

Transcripts and Recommendations

Please complete the Transcript Release Form and submit it to your child’s current school. All transcripts and school records must be mailed directly from the school to Crossroads College Preparatory School. Crossroads College Prep will not accept any hand delivered or unofficial transcripts. Information such as health records, standardized tests scores, and any other information part of the permanent record should be mailed along with the student’s grades. This form should be given to the school at the end of the semester, but before mid-January to ensure sufficient processing time. All applicants are required to provide at least two years of records. If a student has switched schools in the recent past, a Transcript Release Form may need to be submitted to each individual school. We require academic letters of recommendation from your child’s current Math and English teachers. Forms can be found online as part of the application.

Crossroads College Preparatory School also requires one non-academic recommendation. This letter should come from an individual who knows the student outside of the classroom. The non-academic recommendation can come from a religious leader, scout leader, music instructor, dance teacher, camp counselor, etc. The non-academic recommendation does not need to follow the same format as the one provided in the Secondary Standard Online Application. It should be in the form of a letter (mailed to Crossroads College Prep, Attn: Admissions Office) or can be emailed to
